I love these old wooden beehives – the first, in the shape of a woman’s head is Moravian and the carved couple are from Slovakia. I think I would be tempted to keep bees myself if I could have any of these at the bottom of my garden!
I grew up with home produced honey, as my dad kept several hives in a field near the house where we lived, in deepest, darkest Cornwall, and later, when we moved to Dorset, the hives were kept in remote woodland.
My sister now keeps bees, but sadly not in hives like these…
