The Kaffe Fassett – A Life in Colour exhibition at the Fashion and Textile Museum in London is definitely on my ‘to do list’.
It’s only on until the 29th of June so I need to make time to get there pretty soon – and as it is the first show in London since his exhibition at the V&A in 1988 it will be a real shame to miss it.
Kaffe Fassett’s early knitted work was a huge inspiration to me, and I remember realising that anything was possible with knitting, and that it was ‘OK’ to be inspired by absolutely everything – a piece of ancient pottery or some fine silk embroidered fabric, and then translate this inspiration into something knitted.
