Lamb Chop Puppet

LambChopIMageThis puppet pattern looks like an ideal summer holiday knitting project to me. Lamb Chop was the creation of New York ventriloquist and comedian Shari Lewis in the late 50’s and 60’s and she starred on children’s TV over here in the UK in the 70’s – I loved her!

You can make either a knitted version (by Patons & Baldwins Limited), or a crochet version (by Miss J. A . Cowie).

I just happened to come across this copy (in my collection of old and vintage patterns), but you can buy one. And if you have 5 minutes to spare (skip the ads!), you can watch an old black and white show with Chop in action…
