New York Visit

I got back from New York last week and have been slowly recovering from jet lag and generally catching up with things.
Despite hurricane Sandy I had a fantastic time, and it was made all the more memorable by the lovely people I met who made me feel so welcome. I shall definitely be looking forward to my next visit!
It was a unique time for New Yorkers, and although I was lucky enough to be able to get on with my visit more or less unaffected, I know that it was a really tough week for many (and still continues to be for some).

Lion Brand Yarn Studio was an inspiration – it’s dedication to the celebration of yarn and all things knitted and crocheted is phenomenal. All their yarns were beautifully displayed with back lighting and a specific sampling area encouraged customers to help themselves to and get to know the products better. Lion Brand is well known for its fabulous window and in store displays and you can see some past ones here and here.
Thank you Patty and all the staff at Lion Brand for being wonderful hosts!

A huge thank you also to Pearl and Phyllis who were equally welcoming at Knitty City.  I had a great time chatting and book signing in this gorgeous, vibrant and bustling yarn shop that was full to bursting with customers.

Of course I also found time to visit Habu, Annie & Company, the yarn company and Purl

And last but not least, thank you to everyone who came to my Folk Patterned Socks Workshop last week at West Dean College.

And if you have time, take a look at this Lion Brand video…
