We have been having the most amazing Spring weather and for over a week now there have been cloudless blue skies and sunshine everyday. Although it is just like summer by mid-day the mornings and evenings are really chilly and you still need your woolly jumpers.
I have been sorting through my collection of vintage knitting patterns and thought that these kids knits were perfect for this kind of weather. And if you are in the mood for not only knitting but also sewing kids clothes, I thought this website and these vintage children’s fabrics were lovely, here, here, and here and would look great with the hand knits!
The Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green has a fantastic archive of vintage children’s clothes (and toys) which can be viewed by appointment, and some of this archive can be seen in Noreen Marshall’s illuminating book Dictionary of Children’s Clothes.
